Abstract: The techniques of total quality management (TQM) with the concepts of sustainable development have been applied to socioeconomic policy. It is applied primarily to the typical business concern.
A company that integrates sustainable development within its’ TQM management processes could set itself apart from the competition, and perhaps force its’ competition to include sustainable development within their own operational considerations as well, thereby benefiting society as a whole. This trend should also reduce the demand from society to governments for mandates controlling business practices. This paper represents a review of the literature on the Impact of Total Quality Management (TQM) on the Performance of Indian Automotive Industry and supported by various philosophies, Models & Framework of TQM. This research presents new data and empirical insights into the relationship between TQM implementation and organisational performance. The main purpose of this research is to determine the impact of TQM implementation on organisational performance in the context of Indian Automotive industry. The main implication of the findings for managers is that a typical automotive organization is more likely to achieve better performance in employee relations, customer satisfaction, operational performance and business performance with TQM than without TQM.
